Develop Your Skills

Sanford Sports Academy provides year-round one-on-one and small group training and lessons for athletes of all ages and skill levels at the Sanford Pentagon.

1-on-1 Training

Cost: $65 plus tax
Duration: 50 minutes
Focus Areas: Ball-handling, shooting, finishing, footwork and attack moves
1-on-1 Training Benefit: Individual instruction

Can purchase 1, 2, or 4 session packages. Once registered, Terrell Newton will contact you via email to schedule sessions. Workout packages are valid for 6 months from date of purchase.

Small Group Training and Lessons

Cost:
- Group of 2: $40 plus tax per athlete per session
- Group of 3: $30 plus tax per athlete per session
- Group of 4: $25 plus tax per athlete per session
- Group of 5-10: $20 plus tax per athlete per session
Duration: 50 Minutes
Focus Areas: Ball-handling, shooting, finishing, footwork and attack moves incorporated with game concepts and competitive drills
Small Group Training Benefits:
- Action drills
- Live competition drills
- Partner drills
- High-quality reps
- Watch and learn from peers

Sanford Sports Academy offers a variety of camps and clinics year-round at the Sanford Pentagon, designed to provide focused training in a short period of time. Whether it’s a one-day clinic or a multi-day camp, each session is tailored to specific skills and age groups, with options available for all experience levels.

Common offerings include Holiday Hoops Camp, Youth Skills Camp, and Junior High Competition Camp, as well as clinics focused on Shooting, Playmaking, Competition, Decision-Making, and Game Concepts.

Skills covered, age ranges, durations and costs vary by session, allowing athletes to choose the experience that best fits their goals.

Sanford Sports Academy offers seasonal Junior Hoopers and Fastbreak Youth Academy programs at the Sanford Pentagon, specifically designed for K–2nd and 3rd–4th graders of all skill levels.

Duration: 60 minutes for Junior Hoopers and 90 minutes for Fastbreak Academy
Cost: $160 for Junior Hoopers and $240 for Fastbreak Academy plus tax
Focus Areas: Basketball skills, drills and competition
Youth Academy Benefits:
- A fun introduction to the game: The most important part of youth player development is that they love the game. We help instill a passion for basketball along with teaching the fundamentals through drills and fun games.
- Skill work, concept learning and competitive play: The next step in a player’s development is how to play the game. With a combination of skill work, concept learning and competitive play, this academy will introduce players to multiple basketball concepts such as pick and roll, off-ball movement and screens, backdoor cuts, post ups, motion movement and more.

Sanford Sports Academy offers seasonal 3-on-3 Academy programs at the Sanford Pentagon, designed for 3rd–8th graders in the spring and 4th–8th graders in the fall, welcoming players of all skill levels.

Cost: $240 plus tax
Duration: 90 minutes
Focus Areas: Game concepts and 3-on-3 competition
3-on-3 Academy Benefits: Concept learning and competitive play: With less players on the floor, 3-on-3 is one of the best ways to give players more situational playing experience. They can make more plays and get the ball more.

Sanford Sports Academy hosts the Who’s Next Combine every summer at the Sanford Pentagon, designed for advanced high school players aiming to compete at the collegiate level.

Cost: $60 plus tax
Duration: 4 hours
Focus Areas & Benefits: The Who’s Next Combine is designed to showcase the talent in our region and provide an opportunity to compete against the best. Led by our Sanford Sports Basketball Academy staff, players go through skill development stations, performance measurements and 5-on-5 live play in front of college coaches from the region.
